General Synod nominations..

To: Deanery Synod Members

Dear Colleagues,

As you will be aware, as electors for the Southwark General Synod membership, the deadline for nominations is 12pm on Monday 6 September.

We have currently received more nominations than places for both lay and clergy which means that a full election will be conducted. We will be holding two separate Zoom hustings:

• Tuesday 14 September (7pm) for clergy
• Thursday 16 September (7pm) for laity.

Please keep these dates in your diary, further details including the Zoom link will be sent to you separately.

Given the number of candidates at the moment, fully interactive hustings will not be possible. The Presiding Officer has agreed that questions and themes submitted in advance will be used (and moderated by him) as an aid for candidates to speak to. If you have any questions for candidates (which are in general terms to all) please email them to GS2021@southwark.anglican.org, with the subject ‘Hustings Question’.

Details of the candidates and election addresses will be posted on the website in due course, and will appear on your voting page of the Civica Dashboard.
