60 Year Anniversary since the Consecration of St Paul’s Church Lorrimore Sq
During our service for this Sunday 25th October 2020 we will be commemorating 60 years since the consecration of the new Church at St Paul’s Lorrimore Square.
From the old church which was destroyed in 1941 and its emergence from an amalgamation of the “hut church” and the community centre that lived in the space for the next twenty years; the new church has been home to a vibrant South London community, and their lives and prayers since the Bishop opened its doors in October 29th 1960.
This Sunday we will be reflecting on all who have worshiped here since 1960 and on our hopes in the years to come.
Bishop Karowei was unable to lead our sermon as previously planned but there will be contributions from clergy past and present.
