Remembrance Sunday
Welcome to our Remembrance Day service on the Third Sunday before Advent.
Today’s service is very different compared to this time last year when we were all able to come together and link hands around the altar to commemorate the few to whom so much was owed by so many.
This year we will be linking hands metaphorically, not only with our local parish, but with the extended church and beyond to all those observing the one minutes silence with their focus on the cenotaph and the tomb of the unknown soldier.
May God grant us the wisdom never to repeat the folly of war. Give us patience to listen for her lessons before we act and the grace to ensure we will always remember the sacrifice of those who gave their tomorrow so that we could have today.
