Cynthia Bourgeault: Silence in the City at St Paul’s Lorrimore Square
Dr Cynthia Bourgeault, hermit and teacher, returns to Silence in the City, Thursday 28th October at 7.00pm.
We are delighted to welcome Cynthia Bourgeault to an evening at Silence in the City. Our first in-person event since Lockdown.
Cynthia was due to speak in London in April 2020 and because of the pandemic the gathering was cancelled and became an online worldwide event.
On Thursday 28th October, she will be at St Paul’s Chuch, Lorrimore Square, to pick up the thread and share with us in person her close relationship with Thomas Keating, initially as a student, and later as friend and colleague. Cynthia will lead us through the intimate window the poetry offers in the last stage of Fr Thomas’s journey as he emerged fully into what he called “unity consciousness” or what could be described as”non-dual realisation”.
The poems might be seen as a metaphor of journeying into the unknown which has pressing relevance for our own world just now.
The evening will bring many of us together for the first time to hear Cynthia share her new and current teaching live. There will be time in silence and an opportunity to ask questions. We will provide handouts with the relevant texts, but if you have the book feel free to bring it with you.
Tea will be available from 6.30 pm and the event will start at 7pm
