Passover Supper
6th April – 6.30pm
Dear all. Come and join in our Passover meal on Thursday evening!
Jesus’ last supper was a Passover meal, celebrating the escape from slavery of the Jewish people in Egypt. The Jewish people celebrate Passover (or “Seder”) every year and for us Christians it has profound meaning. It is a big family event and everyone is welcome; I love the Jewish expression “make room for everyone at the Seder table!”.
Our Lenten journey together brings us to this holy time called the Triduum. We focus now on the last hours of Jesus’ life as he celebrates Passover with his disciples, and then is arrested, tried and crucified. Tonight we meet at 6:30pm for our Passover supper and tomorrow at 10am we will encounter the stations of the cross, as we follow Jesus’ slow and painful path to the cross.
Shalom!
