Lay Service for the 11th Sunday after Trinity

Welcome to our service for the 11th Sunday after Trinity. As Father John is away on holiday after the Young Persons Summer Camp will be using this time to partake in our lay service commitment here at St Paul’s which will be a welcome opportunity for our new lay readers to practise in a familiar environment for their training on their journey of lay leadership in the wider diocese. 

Today’s service will be led by Sister Praise, Lay Reader incumbent, with sermon by Brother Akin, Church Warden. It will be a Service of the Word, that is a non eucharistic service without an ordained minister. 

We will be filling the space we would have used for our Eucharist, with content  our young people have learned from their summer Camp in Carroty Wood. We will also be observing a modified absolution at the end of the service to reflect our collective will for God to bless us, outside of the channels of an ordained minister.
