Worth Abbey Visit
Parishioners and PCC members take time out to visit Worth Abbey Monastery in Crawley.
The Monastery is home to seven benedictine Monks who have lived there for over forty years.
We were welcomed and guided by Father Martin who introduced us to their prayer order and regaled us with stories of their way of life.
The monastery itself forms part of a woodland of over 400 acres in which roam livestock and a menagerie of animals.
The meals were fresh, organic and prepared by the chef and the Monks themselves. Their cooking skills were such that we wondered why we did ot see any fat Monks!
Our trip to the reservoir was invigorating and inspiring, and certainly worked up an appetite.
All in all we had the most excellent stay and emerged fresh to continue our Christian journey.
