Wife of Tony Sesay Dies

Rugiatu Neneh Sesay dies after battle with cancer

The wife of our Deputy Church Warden, Tony Sesay has died suddenly after a battle with cancer. She passed away on 28th August at the hospital attended by her husband and three daughters.

The funeral at St Paul’s Church in Lorrimore Square was packed by friends and family, including a cohort of the Old Edwardians whom Tony has a long association with. The service was streamed live to Sierra Leone and there was standing room only for one of the biggest crowds the church has ever had for a funeral. 

Tributes were led by Tony and his daughters who read poems and sang to honour their mother.   After a rousing sermon by Pastor Gibril the service commenced at Honour Oak before the wake held at the church. May she rest in peace and rise in Glory.
