Feast of Ascension

Dear all. Today is the Feast of the Ascension when we commemorate Jesus’ ascension to Heaven. This period between Ascension Day and Pentecost we call the “novena”, a special nine days of prayer. This year our prayer focus in Southwark Diocese is to pray for the persecuted church, for people in those countries where your life is in danger if you are a Christian. Each day I will be posting an extract from the Diocese’s prayer booklet for this nine-day period. Today we pray for North Korea.
